Our Story
The story of Mongiovi & Son began long before the company was founded. As a young boy growing up in the 1970s, Rick Mongiovi spent countless hours alongside his father, Guy, an Italian immigrant, learning the plumbing trade and the values of quality workmanship, honesty, and exceptional customer service from his godfather, a successful plumbing contractor.
By the age of 13, Rick had already decided he wanted to own his own plumbing business. After earning his Master Plumber license, he founded Mongiovi & Son Plumbing Contractor LLC., in 1982 at just 21 years old with only $300 in his checking account. Operating out of his parents' garage, Rick handled every aspect of the business himself—from estimating and installations to service calls and customer relationships.
What began as a one-man plumbing operation has grown into a trusted family of companies providing plumbing, excavation, fire protection, and alarm services throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
Today, Mongiovi & Son remains proudly family-owned and operated. Rick works alongside his three children—Ricky, Randy, and Rachele—to lead Mongiovi & Son Plumbing Contractor LLC., Mongiovi & Son Excavating Inc., and Mongiovi & Son Fire Protection Services LLC. More than 40 years later, the company continues to build on the same principles it was founded upon: integrity, quality workmanship, exceptional service, and lasting customer relationships.
